Lets face it - we are all word junkies - we just do not realize it till I now bring it up. Lets look at the proto types. The Court System has its own vocabulary in speech and in the printed word - in fact lawyers have to go to special schools to learn the language itself. The Medical field has its own language and so on and so forth.
Gangsta's have their own language and so everyone is a word junkie of some type.
Every word has its own history and learning that history has been one of my pet projects out of curiousity. My blogs will focus on spacific words of meaning to me and what they are to the reader is unknown.
A Dictionary is a book that is suppose to help us define words and some of the meanings and not all dictionaries give the same definitions and they vary from one to another - old dictionaries are actually a good source of data and information - new dictionaries are not all the same.
What was gay in the 50's as happy is now a person who is a homosexual.
What was battle shock syndrom in the 30's is now post traumatic stress sydrom that has many applications in everyday life besides the battle field. Many words are inter related to each other like stess is related to post traumatic and post to what has been experienced and truama as a hard ship in body and mind.
Words and their meanings is almost a science related to math as numbers are added and subtracted and devided so it is with words as I just indicated.
Part of that science is called conjucture and the applications of semantics and the formation of paradigms. Don't worry I had to look up those words and study them myself.
